What are the recommended books for the 1st year in an MBBS in Ukraine?

Being a Medical Graduate from Ukraine I can assure you that books which are used in Indian Medical Universities in the first year and books used in Ukrainian Medical Universities in the first year are same, students have the option to study from notes provided by the University or books from Indian Authors its sole students choice.

In the first year in Ukraine, you don’t have a lot of subjects so you get plenty of time to strengthen your conceptual knowledge. You can use the following books:

Anatomy

BD Chaurasia’s human anatomy/ Gray’s Anatomy/Textbook of Anatomy by Vishram Singh
Any atlas of human Anatomy: Now, in order to learn gross anatomy and understand it deeply, you’ll need more than just a good textbook on the subject.
For Neuroanatomy, one should definitely refer clinical neuroanatomy by Vishram Singh

Histology

To get a comprehensive knowledge you can use Junqueira’s Basic Histology.
Indian students generally prefer Inderbir Singh’s textbook of human Histology

Embryology

Langman’s Medical Embryology

For other subjects like medical biology and medicinal chemistry, you will get books from the University’s Library which are written according to the University’s syllabus.
